The Max Planck Institute for Brain Research (MPI for Brain Research) in Frankfurt/Main is a continually growing research institution in the field of basic biological and medical research, with a focus on understanding the functions of the brain’s circuits. The Department of Neural Systems and Coding (Prof. Dr. Dr. Gilles Laurent) is part of the interdisciplinary neuroscience campus in Frankfurt/Riedberg where the new MPI building is located. Research in the Department aims to understand the physiology of perception with an experimental focus centered on neural computation, neuronal coding and integration.

To support our international team of biologists, computer scientists and physicists, we are looking for a motivated

Student (m/f)

to conduct their Master’s thesis in the area of 3D modelling of the reptilian brain at the Scientific Computing Facility. Our goal is develop a 3 D reference map of the reptilian brain to collect and visualize data collected using of different imaging techniques.
