Max Planck Day 2018
On Max Planck Day, September 14, 2018 a wide range of activities took place in 32 cities across Germany. All visitors had the opportunity to experience research at Max Planck live - and to discuss current issues with the people behind this research. The Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt also participated in the open day with a series of public events.
Openinig of Exhibitions
The occassion of the Max-Planck-Day 2018, marked the opening of two exhibitons at the MPI for Brain Research: "The Art of The Brain" which is on display at the institute until present and the "Korbinian Broadmann" exhibition (at display between September 14 and November 14, 2018). The exhibition openings were accompanied by short talks by Dr. Uta-Kanis-Seyfried (University Ulm in Ravensburg), Prof. Dr. Moritz Helmstaedter (MPI for Brain Research), and Dr. Stephan Junek (MPI for Brain Research). Tours of the exhibitons were also offered on this day.
Science Market
A "Science Market" organized by scientists and staff of the MPI for Brain offered insights on:
- Camouflage behaviour
- Using PCR to detect DNA and RNA molecules
- Modelling activity propagation in the brain of reptiles
- Elektrophysiology and brain evolution
