The Gender Equality Plan 2024-2026 of the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research is awarded GOLD

To implement its gender equality goals, the Max Planck Society has defined comprehensive standards that ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of its gender equality strategy. The institutes and facilities implement the standards through gender quality plans. The Comission “Quality Management of Max Planck Gender Equality Plans”, chaired by the Central Gender Equality Officer, regularly reviews the gender equality plans, sharpens the standards and designs the monitoring process.
In a first-of-its-kind commentary published March 14, 2024 in the journal Cell, 24 transgender scientists and their family members openly share their experiences in STEMM fields.
"A European perspective on structural barriers to women's career progression in neuroscience," recently published in Nature Neuroscience, sheds light on the persistent gender disparities in European academic neuroscience.

The ALBA Network launched the ALBA Declaration on Equity and Inclusion, a document that declares the commitment of the ALBA Network to foster fair and diverse scientific communities.
