Korbinian Brodmann returns to Frankfurt and MPI-BR
On September 14, the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research opened an exhibition about life and work of the neuroanatomist Korbinian Brodmann
During the opening Uta Kanis-Seyfried (Universität Ulm in Ravensburg) discussed the tragic history of an excellent neuroscientist dating back 100 to 150 years ago. Brodmann had strong links to the Berlin predecessor of the MPI for Brain Research Institute (Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Brain Research) as well as to the Frankfurt neuroscience community around 1900 where he worked with Alois Alzheimer. Moritz Helmstaedter (Max Planck Institute for Brain Research) spoke about the developments since Brodmann including recent work on determining the relevant areas and connections in the brain.
The traveling exhibition can be found in the communication area of our ground floor.
