Prof. Erin Schuman awarded with the Hodgkin-Huxley-Katz Prize Lecture
The International Scientific Programme Committee of the Physiological Society choose Prof. Erin Schuman as the recipient of The Hodgkin-Huxley-Katz Prize Lecture for 2013.
The Physiological Society´s Hodgkin-Huxley-Katz Prize Lecture is one of its most prestigious named lectures and it comes with a prize of £1000. In 2013, the lecture will be given at IUPS 2013 in Birmingham (UK), from 21 to 26 July and is usually published in the Journal of Physiology. In recent years the lecture has been awarded to Eric Kandel, Roger Nicoll and Cori Bargmann.
The Hodgkin-Huxley-Katz Prize Lecture was established in 1999. This prestigious biennial lecture celebrates the contributions to the physiological sciences of Alan Hodgkin, Andrew Huxley and Bernard Katz. To emphasize the international impact of their work, the lecture is normally given by a distinguished physiologist working outside the UK or Republic of Ireland.
