Prof. Wolf Singer receives the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to science, Prof. Wolf Singer received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse) awarded by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Christian Wulff, who was represented by the Hessian Minister of State, Michael Boddenberg, on August 12, 2011. The Minister President of Hesse nominated Prof. Singer to commemorate his outstanding achievements in neuroscience, his tireless efforts in establishing the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS), the Ernst Strüngmann Forum, and the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI), as well as his life-long commitment and efforts to further scientific enquiry.

On behalf of everyone associated with FIAS, the Ernst Strüngmann Forum, the Ernst Strüngmann Institute and the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research we wish to extend our most sincere congratulations to Prof. Singer on this well-deserved award.
